Have you added a TWIN STICK shifter to your Dana 300? Do your twin stick levers tend to jump out of gear on deceleration or on a down hill run?

A common problem on "twin sticked" Dana 300's is shifter disengagement. This happens for several reasons:

  • The combination of straight cut gears on the gear hubs, output shaft clutch teeth, and slide ring clutch teeth.
  • The unequal detent spring bore depths for the front and rear shift rails.
  • Improperly adjusted shifter linkage.
  • Shifter boots that are binding.

The Ball & Spring kit offered by JB Conversions, Inc. will create equal spring pressure on both shift rails by providing springs with equal rates and also elevating the spring in the deeper bore of the bearing retainer.

There is no guaranteed "fix" for the twin stick issue however, in most all cases, our ball and spring kit will take care of the problem.
